A digital painting that symbolically portrays the 4th dimension of Time. A white stallion represents the hurried and often unpredictable pace of time. As it dashes to and from, the horse kicks up small spheres which symbolize all of the particles in our Universe. The influence of the horse causes a constant mixing and reorganization of the atomic grains; generating infinitely random combinations of life.

In the distance, a series of large white roses hang like chandeliers. The foremost flower appears lush and healthy, but as we move further into the background, each rose begins to gradually wilt and die. This visual progression helps reinforce the bidirectional flow of time and leads the eye towards additional subject matter.

At the horizon, you can see the silhouette of an arch. Centered inside this arch, a similar structure is seen floating in the distance; both arches are gateways which connect our Universe to others in the Multiverse.

"I suppose the concept for this piece was inspired in part by one of many wonderful BBC programs I watched about astrophysics. ‘Equinox’ was the 5th painting I made in 2011 for my 365 Days Of Art project. Overall, it is one of my favorite pieces from my portfolio."
